It seems to me that instead of encouraging originality, electronic music (especially within the context of "IDM" and "Breakcore") has been a giant orgy of who can guess the most obscure sample sources.
OH U KNO THAT SNARE SAMPLE IS FROM REPHLEX CATALOGUE #3872B9 LIMITED TO 394 COPIES. HERE'S A 320 RIP. ... This may seem fun but it's kind of an excuse for not having any talent guys seriously. It's good to recycle but being fucking pedantic is ridiculous. |
